Jacob James CrockettMANSFIELD: Jacob James Crockett, 16, of Mansfield passed away at home on Tuesday, June 27, 2017. Jacob was born on November 27, 2000 in Ashland, Ohio to James Crockett and Marlene (Valgas) Lara. Jacob was a student at Madison High School and enjoyed spending time with his friends. Jacob was an affectionate young man who loved everyone and always had a hug to share and gave the best kisses to those he loved. He was a typical teen who loved spending time playing on the computer, video games, action figures, going to the movies or catching an episode of "The Three Stooges" at home, and listening to a variety of music. Jacob had a deep love for his older brother, Nicholas, and his dogs, Cassie, Lou-Lou and Sam. He was extremely close with his grandparents and one of his favorite things to do was ride the quad with his PawPaw Lewis. Jacob's memory will live on in the hearts of everyone that loved him, as he made an impact on everyone he encountered.Left behind to cherish Jacob's memory are his parents, James Crockett and Marlene Lara; brother, Nicholas Crockett; grandparents, Mary Lewis, Bill and Donna Wells, Paul and Joann Valgas, and Sue Crockett; aunts and uncles, Sherry Knipp, Mike (Renae) Wells, Billy Wells, and Justin Valgas; numerous cousins, and friends.He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, James Crockett and Burnell Lewis; great grandmothers, Dolores Dilgard and Alvia Hall; an aunt, Robin Mollett; and step father, Rodolfo Lara.The family will welcome and receive friends from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St. Mansfield. A funeral service officiated by Rev. Keith Carlisle will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
