Ivan Jacob Eicher

Ivan was preceded in death by: his parents, Jacob and Gladys (McKay) Eicher; son, Ivan Dean Eicher; son-in-love, Bernie Hall; sisters: Naomi Eicher, Virginia Eddy, Orie Sullivan, Ruth Meyer, and Betty Wallis; a brother, William Henry Eicher.
Ivan was survived in death by his wife of 56 years, Delores Eicher; daughter-in-love, Mary (Jeff) Ebel of Omaha, NE; granddaughters-in-love: Brianna (Tim) Gehr of Omaha, NE, and Amber Papst of Fairdale, KY; honorary granddaughters-in-love: Aston (Kyle) McCuen, Clarissa (Sam) Ellett, Savannah (Dru) Banks, Kaylene Williams, Claudette Dennis all of Omaha, NE; honorary great grandchildren-in-love: Arianna Hubble, Harper Sharrock, Lillian McCuen, Symphony Banks, and Raylan Banks; along with many loving friends and family.
Ivan also had two children, Denise and Jeff, with his first wife, Martha.
Ivan served in the Army during the Korean War era with Medical Company 9. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Combat Infantry Badge. Ivan served an additional 8 years in the Reserves.
When he returned home, he worked several jobs in manufacturing facilities before finding his love of over-the-road trucking. This love took him all over God's great country. When he retired, he continued working small, in-town driving jobs. During his career, he was awarded a two-million-mile accident-free medal.
Ivan lived a long, fulfilling 92+ years with his faith and family always at his side.
Service and luncheon at the Jubilee Church, 9502 Fort Street, Omaha, NE on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 2-5pm. Military honors and burial at the Omaha National Cemetery, 14250 Schram Road, Omaha, NE will be Friday, June 14, 2024 at 2:30pm.
