It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden departure of Israel Velazquez, 65, of Aguada, Puerto Rico on July 22, 2023. Israel was born on March 06, 1958 in Hoboken, New Jersey and lived the greater part of his life in Camden, New Jersey. However, Puerto Rico was always his home, his "Paradise". It is only fitting that he spent his final years and passed away where he found the most peace.
Israel, affectionately known as Junior, was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. His laugh, his vast knowledge of trivial information, and "dad jokes" will be missed.
Israel's ashes will be spread on the beach that he walked every day so that he will forever be resting in peace in his "Paradise".
You can to the family or in memory of Israel Velazquez.

To the man that gave me my name Marisol, which translates to "sea" & "sun" & represents our beloved land the land where you took your last breath, the land that your heart now belongs to the land were we will lay you to rest Puerto Rico.
To the man that gave me the color of my skin, my beautiful brown skin that I proudly wear year-round tan & sun-kissed.
To the man who gave me his dark eyes with hidden thoughts, feelings, and desires. Yet soft, sweet, and innocent.
To my FATHER, my now protector and angel in heaven, I thank you for the life you have given me, for my beauty & strength. I thank you for the gut belly laughs that left me breathless & gasping for air. I thank you for every mistake you made because without those, I would not be the woman I am today.
I thank you for every beautiful memory you gave me that required no amount of money just your time, for my love of horror movies, hot sauce, hoagie with orange soda, and Frosted Flakes with Banana’s. You didn’t have to do much or give much all I needed & wanted was to have you.
Daddy, until we meet again, may you protect me & your legacy, your Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren for we are lucky to have a soldier of GOD watching over us. 💚 😇 🕊

Israel was great to work with - he was part of our DI department and was always smiling - I know his dream was to live in Puerto Rico so I am glad he was able to accomplish that. My deepest condolences to Tata, Chi and the entire family. Keep your memories close to your heart during his difficult time. Love to you all...................

Izzy always made everyone smile with one of his jokes or his stories. I had the pleasure of knowing him through working with him at PRN and you could always count on him to bring joy into our lives everyday. All he ever spoke about was retiring and moving to Puerto Rico and he accomplished that dream. My thoughts go out to the entire family and saying prayers.

Junior was a great man, I loved his jokes and especially his accent. He would often tease me about the 49ers. He will be forever missed.
