Isabel Catherine BachmanKalkaskaIsabel "IB" Catherine (Fedewa) Bachman, 87, passed away surrounded by her loving family September 5, 2017 at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center, Eden Center in Kalkaska, where she was so well cared for.Isabel was born on November 15, 1929 to Margaret and Otto Fedewa, who owned a farm on Dexter Trail in Westphailia, Michigan. After high school, she moved to Lansing and worked for Fisher Body. She married Joseph Donahue in 1951. As a devout Catholic, she was a longstanding member of St. Therese Parish. She and Joe developed a successful custom home building business over their 28 years of marriage. She always had a fabulous zest for life that she instilled into her family. She enjoyed golf, bowling, traveling and especially playing cards. Many summers and weekends were spent at various lake cottages over the years.In the second phase of her life, she moved to the Tampa/Clearwater area of Florida. She invested in real estate, did income taxes for seniors, worked at Bealls department store and volunteered for Hospice. She then met Jack Bachman of New Port Richey Florida. Married in 1989, they enjoyed 13 wonderful years together, living in a golf course community. They made countless friends and traveled extensively until 2002.Back to Michigan, this time to Williamsburg in the Traverse City area. She became a member of Christ the King Parish in Acme. She enjoyed watching her granddaughters grow up. Eventually Phil, Elma, and Terrie also returned to northern Michigan to be close to her.She is preceded in death by her husband Jack; brother-in-law, Kenneth MacDonald; sister, Marcie Pierce; and brother Hilary Fedewa.She is survived by her children, Phil (Elma), Terrie, Tom Donahue, Linda (George) Gonzalez, Joe (Doug Salzman), and Pat (Juile) Donahue; grandchildren, Jeremy (Christina) Blackburn, Jenifer, Jessica, Danielle, Anna Donahue, and Jesse Gonzalez; great grandsons, Julian and Jackson; siblings, Sally (Lew) Kramer, Vi Macdonald, Janie (Carl) Bollman, and Danny Fedewa; sister-in-laws, Rosie Fedewa and Alice Fedewa. She will also be deeply missed by dozens of nieces and nephews, several godchildren and the countless friends she made in Michigan and Florida.A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Christ the King Catholic Church, 3801 Shore Rd. Williamsburg, MI 49690.There will be a mass in her honor held at St. Therese Church in Lansing, Michigan held at a later date.Arrangements were made by Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home, our family serving yours.
