Irving H. Lawyer, Sr. Irving H. Lawyer, Sr., 69, of Pineland, SC died Sunday, November 29, 2015 at his home. Mr. Lawyer was born on April 16, 1946 in Harlem, NY, the son of Benjamin Stewart and Rose Lawyer. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of the Vietnam Veterans of America. He was retired from the United States Postal Service. Mr. Lawyer was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Lawyer. He is survived by his parents; his daughter, Karen Lawyer; sons, Irving H. Lawyer, Jr. and Hakeem Shaheed; fourteen siblings; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will take place at 12:oo noon, Friday, December 4, 2015 at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC with military honors. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until 10:00 am, Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton.
