McCOLL, S.C. — The Rev. Irvin Eugene Stone, 90, passed away to his Heavenly home on Nov. 26, 2015.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the McColl Pentecostal Fire Baptized Holiness Church officiated by the Rev. Glenn Vollrath. Burial will follow the service in Rogers Cemetery.
Rev. Stone was a son of the late George F. Stone and Cora Bell Turner Stone born on Feb. 28, 1925 in Henry County, Virginia. He was a World War II Navy veteran but wished to be remembered as a soldier for Jesus.
He was ordained in the ministry on July 3, 1960 and served in many of the Pentecostal Fire Baptized Holiness Churches until his retirement. He was a member of the McColl Pentecostal Fire Baptized Holiness Church and served the Lord faithfully until his passing to his eternal home.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 53 years Colleen Stone, his daughter Linda Faye Stone and son, Dr. Larry Stone, brother James Stone and sister Shirley S. Wells.
Rev. Stone is survived by his wife Eula Mae Stone of their home in McColl, his daughters Barbara Stone Polson (Duane) and Becky Stone Lowery (Derry), his brother Vernon Stone, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
The family requests that memorial donations be given in his memory to Embrace Hospice, 1220 Bennettsville Square, Bennettsville, SC 29512.
