ANGOLA — Irene U. Caswell, age 86, of Angola, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at Northern Lakes Nursing Center, Angola, Indiana. Irene was born on August 14, 1930, in Walton, Nebraska, the daughter of William and Alta (Adamson) Bouman. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948. Prior to living in Angola, she lived many years in Gilead Township in Branch County, Michigan, and also had lived in Sturgis. She worked cleaning houses for several years, and had worked at the Glass House on the Indiana Toll Road, and at Greenfield Research in Howe, Indiana. Her hobbies included playing bingo. She married Russell R. Caswell on April 12, 1952, in Denver, Colorado, and he survives. Survivors include her husband Russell R. Caswell of Angola, Indiana; three children, Steven (Deborah) Caswell of Albion, Indiana, Dorothy (Garry) May of Angola, Indiana, and Jerry Caswell of Bryan, Ohio; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie VanHorn of Lincoln, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, May and Lois, and her brothers, Dale, Ralph, Les, and Bill. There are no services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later time. Burial will be at the Knauss Cemetery, Kinderhook Township, Branch County, Michigan.
