On June 28, 1945, Iola Garlington Wesley was born in Lake Alfred, Florida to James Rutland Sr. and Helen Robinson. At age 13 Iola Moved to Melbourne, Fl. She graduated from Stone School.
Iola was introduce to Christ at an early age. At age 29 Iola became a Buddhist, of which she later became a district leader and proudly served for over 45 years.
Iola was a domestic worker for over 40 years. She was known for saying what was on her mind , and her famous Sunday dinners. Iola touched many lives and would help anyone with anything. In 2017, Iola suffered a series of strokes which forced her to live in a nursing home.
She was preceded in death by her parents James Rutland Sr, and Helen Robinson, and Isacc Robinson Sr (step-father), two sisters Hazel Getter, and Mary Caldwell. Threebrothers James Rutland Jr (Zeak), John Rutland (J.C.), and Isaac Robinson Jr.
She leaves to cherish in loving memoryher children, Cassandara King (acksoneville, FL), Willie Gillette (Melbourne, FL), and Jacqueline Garlington(Melbourne,Fl).Twelve granchildren, Luther, Rashad, Shantae, Tiara, Ashley, Leshae, Dazasia, Camari, Dylicia,Tyniah, Amiyah, and Erica. Two Sisters, Gladys Rutland, and Sharon Jordan, and one brother Andrew Rutland (Soteria).A host of neices and nephews and a big extended family Rutlands, Robinsons, and Robersons, and countless friends.
