Ms. Ida Elizabeth Chambers, 76, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday October 6th, 2018, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston Salem, NC. She was born in Charlotte, NC, on March 14, 1942 and was the daughter of the late Wavie Chambers, Jr, and Mae Joyce Scott Brown.
Chambers was a graduate of North Iredell High School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Jermaine Chambers and a longtime companion, Larry Eugene Johnson.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, one daughter, Tameika (Terry) Chambers of Statesville; one step-daughter, Tosha Johnson of Mooresville; a god daughter, Ta’Shika Monae Emmons of Statesville; two brothers, Alex Lewis Chambers of Statesville and Anthony (Claudia) Chambers of San Antonia, TX; two sisters, Rossie Rochelle Brown and Veronica (Dean) Jones, both of Statesville; two grandsons, Terrell Elliott Joyner and Quientin Rayshaun Joyner; four granddaughters, Tempestt Dontenea Chambers, Zyanah Michelle Joyner, Dejah Marie Joyner and Giaona Nyshai Millsaps; an aunt, Linda Massey Sloan of Alliance, OH; four nephews, Anthony Dwayne Brown, II of Statesville, Anthony Marcel Tucker of Seattle WA, Wavington Alexis Chambers of Spartanburg, SC and Joshua Connor of San Antonia, TX; five nieces, Keisha Diane Brown of Charlotte, Natasha (Matt) Bellamy of Troutman, Whitney (David) Mikel, II of Suffolk, VA, Tyra Brown and Kisha Marshell both of Statesville; a host of cousins, including special cousins, Melvina Porter of Charlotte, Freddie (Leslie) Morrison, Lilly (Sissy) Scott, Wendy Scott, Olynda Morris and Darrell (Peggy) Millsaps, all of Statesville.
