Antunes, IdaIda (Macedo) Antunes passed away on Friday, Nov. 11, 2016 at Hancock Hall in Danbury. She was the wife of the late Manuel J. Antunes.Ida was born on Nov. 20, 1927 in Portugal and came to the US when she was six years old. She was a daughter of the late Manuel Luis and Cezaltina (Fernandes) Macedo. She attended local school in Danbury.Ida married Manuel J. Antunes in St. Peter Church, Danbury in 1947. Ida and Manuel were married for 60 years before he passed away in 2007.Ida worked at Danbury Hat City and Barden Corporation in her early adult life. She was primarily a homemaker who loved to attend family events, picnics, holiday parties, and especially the graduations of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed working in her vegetable garden.Survivors include her daughters: Sandra Smith and Diana Frederick and their husbands. Her sister: Julia Font of New Fairfield. Her grandchildren: Jennifer Frederick, Laurie Canepa and Christopher Smith. Three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral Services will be conducted at 1pm on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
