Ian Michael Caffrey Ian Michael Caffrey died in New Orleans on October 16, 2017. He was born on January 8, 1959, in San Francisco, California, where he spent the first seven years of his life. From California, the family moved to Washington D.C. where Ian started second grade, then to Suffern, New York, where he attended eighth through twelfth grade and went into the printing trade. Ian remained in the Suffern area and attended Rockland County Community College, and later attended Cornell University in Ithaca. He moved to the Bay Area of California around 1990 and continued in the printing industry and attended school at Cuesta College. Ian remained in California until 2007, when he moved to his final home of New Orleans. He is survived by his mother, Ann; his daughter, Rachel (Caffrey) Tekeyan; his wife, Lisa (Patriquin) Caffrey; his sister, Cathleen; and his brothers: Pat, Liam and Evan. His father, John G. Caffrey, died in 1994 in California. Ian was a kind, patient and loving man with malice toward none, and a fine sense of humor. He was a master at running and repairing large-scale color printing presses, and was adept at anything mechanical. He will be missed by his family and many friends. Services will be private.
