Hugh Roscoe Flagan, 75, passed away peacefully on Dec. 5, 2016, at St. Elias Specialty Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. Hugh was born on July 5, 1941, in Spokane, Wash. He moved to Alaska in 1968, making Palmer his lifelong home. He worked for Unocal as the Oil Platform Head Mechanic for the Greyling Platform, retiring in 2004.In Hugh's early years he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed taking family and friends out on his Daycruiser. Hugh also spent many hours in his shop woodworking and sharing his projects, but his favorite hobby was tinkering in his garage on his classic cars and cruising with the Valley Cruisers Classic Car Club. Hugh enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.He will be greatly missed.Hugh is survived by his wife, Judith Flagan; daughters, Annette (Rob) Root, JoAnna Flagan, Terri (Joe) Davis and Robin (Tom) Covington; sons, Adam (Lindsay) Flagan, Andrew Flagan, Joji Lowther, Joby Flagan and Ted (Bea) Justen; grandchildren, Shawn, Katie, Michelle, Madison, Ashton, Chase, Shannon, TJ, John (Liz), Chris (Cassie), Curtis, Destiny, Robbie, Cadie (Terrence), Nick (Annette), Caleb and Zoe; and great-grandchildren, Arrow, Jocelyn, Jaden, Peyton, Seneca, Lily, Alan, Lelani, Emma, Ella, Addie, Landyn, Dominic, Anthony and Gavino. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Cora Flagan; brothers, Frank, Robert, Walter, Ralph Flagan and Irvine Hay; along with his grandson, Ray Justen.There will be a celebration of life for Hugh on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at the Moose Lodge, 1136 South Cobb Street in Palmer, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments to follow.Arrangements are with Janssen's Mat-Su Funeral Home.
