Herman "Lefty" Yost Jr., 86, longtime resident of Idaho Springs, passed away on Feb. 22, 2017, in Lakewood. He was born on Sept. 16, 1930, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Herman C. Yost and Helen May. He married Pamela Yost on April 30, 1994, in Idaho Springs. Herman graduated from Idaho Springs High School in 1949 and joined the U.S. Navy. He worked as an engineer with CDOT for 36 years and was a member of the Idaho Springs Elks Lodge and the VFW.Herman is survived by his wife, Pamela Yost, of Idaho Springs; daughters Rose (Steve) Green of Pueblo West, Helen (Robert) Garcia of Lakewood, Debbie Davis of Marathon, Fla., Cindy (Kevin) Moore of Grand Junction and Stephanie Adair of Broomfield; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Center in Idaho Springs. Burial will follow at the Idaho Springs Cemetery. A reception will be held at Idaho Springs Elks Lodge No. 607 at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the .
