Herbey Rendon and Maria Garza Sr.LansingOn the warm West Texas day of July 28th, 1945 Herbey Rendon Garza married Maria de Jesus Perez; together they created a life of unconditional love for each other and the family that they created.After almost 72 years of marriage; Herbey and Maria passed on to eternal heaven on May 15 and May 16 respectively; their love for each other only allowing them to be apart for only 28 hours. They were surrounded at their home of fifty years by their sons and daughters and family during each of their final moments. Herbey was born in October 8, 1926 in Coleman Texas; Maria was born on April 1st, 1928 also in Coleman Texas.Herbey was preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Beatriz Garza, Maria by her parents Emilio and Tomasa Perez, cherished and loving grandsons and granddaughter; Michael Gonzales, Edward Najera, Anthony Najera, Conchita Garza and infant twin sons and a twin daughter.They are survived by 14 of the children they brought into the world; Alicia Gonzales (Nieves), Herbey Garza (Janie), Gloria Atkinson (Evans), Odelia Diaz (Fortino), Richard Garza (Irene), Ofilia Diaz (Jim), Connie Romo (James), Ralph Garza, George Garza, Tony Garza (Sue), Ray Garza, David Garza (Laurie) Rebecca Garza, (Ramiro) and Yolanda Flores (Luis). Herbey and Maria enjoyed and loved each of their fifty-one grandchildren, ninety-one great grandchildren and forty-one great great grandchildren.Herbey served his country in the US Army during World War II, he retired an autoworker from the Motor Wheel Corporation. Maria was a lifelong homemaker in which she created a warm loving home to her husband and children. She was the quintessential host to all family members and friends in which her first priority was to make everyone feel comfortable and at ease and to offer a meal or at least something to drink, but she preferred and insisted on making a meal consisting of homemade tortillas and a variety of mexican food choices; although her most famous dish was her mouth watering Cream Chicken.Funeral services for both Herbey and Maria will be held at 11 am, Friday, May 19th, at Mt. Hope Church, 202 S. Creyts Rd., Lansing, with interment to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday May 18th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing and on Friday 1 hour prior to the service at the church.The family would like to thank all the staff at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospice.In lieu of flowers the family has requested to please consider a memorial donation to the Greater Lansing Food Bank,
