Herbert Arlin WoehlWallHerbert Arlin Woehl of Wall Texas, passed away on Feb. 8, 2017, at San Angelo Community Hospital in San Angelo, Texas. Herbert was born on Dec.r 1, 1936, in Wall, Texas to Irene (Barcum) Woehl and William Bennett Woehl. Herbert enlisted in the Texas National Guard on Oct. 21, 1958. Herbert married Marcella Caroline Przilas at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Umbarger, Texas on Aug. 12, 1959. He was conscripted into the U.S. Army during the Berlin Crisis in 1961. He became an expert with the U.S. Carbine Caliber 30 in March 1962. When the Berlin Crisis was over, he finished his two-year obligation to the United States Army as a Reservist in the Texas National Guard. After that, Herbert followed his heart back to farming and ranching, which he did for the next 70 years. He was an instrumental part of building the Wall Volunteer Fire Department. Along with all of the volunteer work he did for Wall ISD and St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Wall, Texas. He instilled a love for the outdoors when he taught his four children how to hunt, fish and water ski; even though he didn't know how to swim himself. Herbert was a blessing to all those around him and loved everyone like they were his children. Whenever someone was in need he was always the first one there without question. Herbert is preceded in death by his parents and four of his nine siblings. He is survived by brothers, Harvey of San Angelo, Texas, Donald of Tankersley, Texas, and two sisters Darlene and Shirley of San Angelo, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Marcella Caroline Woehl, of Wall, Texas, his son Arlin Woehl of Wall, Texas, daughters Mary Jo Stasiowski of Cedar Park, Texas, Gayenell Phelan of Dixon, California, and Lisa Thompson of Edmond, Oklahoma. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Brooklyn, Sharlyn, Zachary, Aubrey, Andrea, Caroline, Chad, Jacob, Matthew, Caleb and Katie. He was also blessed with three great- grandchildren, Dylann, Sawyer, and Leddy Bloodworth and the next generation of Woehl's is on the way. He took pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He showed how much he loved his family, by the stories he could tell, jokes he would play, and his witty comebacks. Visitation and Rosary are at 6 p.m., Feb. 10, 2017 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Wall, Texas. Saturday Feb. 11, 2017. Funeral mass is at 10 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Graveside service to follow in Wall Cemetery.
