Henry Matthew Dietrich SchwarzSan AngeloHenry Matthew Dietrich Schwarz, 93, of Miles, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Henry was born on July 15, 1923 to Theodore and Martha (Ohlenbusch) Schwarz in Pyron, Texas. He attended school in Hobbs, Texas and graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Agriculture. Henry worked at Tech to help develop the technology of artificial insemination of dairy and beef cattle. He was a well-respected technician in this part of Texas, offering artificial insemination services, as well as classes to ranchers and dairymen. He was also a long-time farmer in the Veribest community.Henry proudly served his country during
World War II, first as a bugler, then as an instructor for recruits in marksmanship. He reached the rank of Staff Sergeant, and received an honorable discharge before resuming and completing his college education.On June 27, 1948, he married the love of his life, Jo Nita Callan, in Hobbs, Texas. Henry and Jo Nita lived in in the Veribest community for 50 years and remained married for an astounding 68 years. Henry was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Miles, American Legion Post 32 in San Angelo, and a Life Member of DAV.He was preceded in death by his parents.Pallbearers will be R.W. Callan, Max Eschberger, Kyle Book, King Drake, Mike Kinsey and Terry Salling.Honorary pallbearers will be Ernie Miller, Daniel Redman and Ben Robles. Henry is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Jo Nita Schwarz of Miles, Texas; daughters, Beverly Kay and her husband Mike Kinsey of La Vernia, Texas, Evelyn Annette and husband King Drake of Miles, Texas; grandchildren: Nicole and husband Tony Jones of Bullard, Misty Kinsey and significant other Paul Wood of Colorado City, Reid and wife Molly Hall of Lubbock, April Drake of San Angelo, Tim and wife Marti Kinsey of Del Rio, Amy and husband Brad Roberts of San Angelo; great-grandchildren are: David, Colson, Trace, Tony Jr., Trinity, Kingsley, Paul Jr., Sarita, Camryn and Park; and brothers-in-law R. W. Callan of Lawton, Oklahoma and Leroy Coldewey of Tulsa, Oklahoma.Viewing will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at Robert Massie Funeral Home, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Miles.Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Miles with Rev. Diane Eggemeyer, officiating. Burial will take place in the Miles Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church at P.O.
