Helen Nickel, 89, of Everett, Washington went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 3, 2016, after a brief struggle with metastatic cancer. Her work on earth was done. Helen was a hard worker, devoting herself to her family, generous and helpful to those in need, a humble servant. "Her children rise up and call her blessed." Helen was born on August 23, 1927, in Hague, Saskatchewan, Canada to Henry and Anna Ens. In 1961, she moved to Everett, WA with her husband, Wilfred, and children, Judy, Lorraine, Gloria and Al. She worked at John Fluke Manufacturing for 24 years. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church since 1961. Her husband of 57 years died in 2004. In 2005, she moved to North Carolina to live with her daughter, Judy. Helen will be remembered for her godly example she set for her children, Judy (Keith) Brewer, Lorraine (Kenn) Carpenter, Gloria (Ric) Cook and Al (Bobbi) Nickel; her 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was their greatest prayer warrior and her desire was that they all walk with the Lord. She also leaves two sisters and three brothers living in Canada. Her family looks forward to spending eternity with her in Heaven. Visitation will be from 3 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Evergreen Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2016, at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Everett.
