FINDLAY — Helen "Dee" Miller, 76, of rural Findlay passed away at 1:05 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. She was born on February 9, 1937, to the late Kenneth W. and Lillian (Payer) Sparr in Geneva, OH. She married Gordon F. Miller on December 16, 1961, and he survives. Helen is also survived by her son, Jeffrey G. (Cindy) Miller of Findlay; daughters: Lori D. (Harris) Kreichman of Coconut Creek, FL, Robyn K. (Fiancé, Mike Linhart) Miller of Findlay, and Jennifer K. Smith of Findlay; and by her eight grandchildren: Taylor Miller, Matthew Kreichman, Michael Kreichman, Bryce Smith, Brandon Smith, Brody Smith, Michelle Brandt, and Clinton Kieffer. She attended Indiana University and then graduated from The University ofFindlay. Dee began her teaching career at Van Buren High School and furthered her teaching career in Florida. She was a member of Salem-Cass United Methodist Church, where she was the former choir director. Dee loved music and sang professionally with the St. Louis Opera Company. She loved to cook, sew, collect antiques, and garden. She also worked at the Findlay Hancock County Public Library. Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home and for one hour (10:00 -11:00 a.m.) prior to the service. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Salem-Cass United Methodist Church with Pastor Ray Kane officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date.
