It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Jewell on December 17, 2025, in Ocala, Florida, United States. Born in Stoughton, Wisconsin on December 9, 1954, Helen was the daughter of Norbert Lathrop and Catherine Hardwick.

In 1972, Helen married her first husband, James A Preston and had two children together: James A preston Jr and Rebecca J Moss (spouse Paul Moss). She and James divorced in 1978. In 1983 she married the love of her life, Bobby J Jewell, and together they raised three children: James A Preston Jr, Rebecca J Moss (spouse Paul Moss), and Stephen A Jewell (spouse Casey Temple). Helen was a devoted grandmother to three grandchildren: Maria Moss, Malori Moss and Caylenn Jewell.

Helen is the 4th of five children, survived by her children, younger sister: Linda Schneider (spouse Daryl Schneider) and multiple cousins, nephews and nieces.

Helen attended Stoughton Senior High School and went on to work in data entry during most of her early career. Later on, she transitioned to the field of insurance and after a heart attack, retired in 2017. She was a dedicated supporter of St. Jude's organization and friend to all.

Outside of work, Helen enjoyed baking, especially with her grandchildren. She found joy in spending time with her family and creating cherished memories together.

Helen passed away peacefully due to complications of cancer. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
