Mrs Hazel Jones Thompson went to be with the Lord on June 21, 2019 in Wiggins, Mississippi. Hazel was born on October 2, 1932 to the late Mary Louise and Mike Jones. She was preceded death by her brother, Earl Jones and sister Marla Williams.

She is survived by her partner, Daniel Thompson, and their 9 children: Charles Fairley (Jane), Zachariah Thompson (Mary), Author Thompson (Louise), Melvin Thompson (Jamie), Avon Thompson (Mary), Darren Thompson (Ashley), Mary Edwards (Mike), Madeline Thompson, and Dora Thompson. She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren: Marcus Thompson (Ali), Latoya Thompson, Melvin Thompson, Jr, Maddy Thompson and Julie Edwards.

Hazel dedicated her life to others working as a Teacher for 52 years before retiring in 2002. She dedicated her time and energy to helping others through organizations like Girls and Boys Clubs. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing and playing bingo. Hazel loved cooking and spending time with her family.

Hazel will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service to celebrate Hazel’s life will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday June 29, 2019, at Owen Ramsey Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to gather from 10a.m to 11a.m to share memories and pay their respects.
