Hattie McDowell, aged 83, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away on April 23, 2024. She was born on July 22, 1940, to William and Judy McDowell. Hattie was the beloved mother of five children, Cynethia McDowell, Thomas Groves (spouse Kelly Groves), Marylin Lawson (spouse Leland Lawson), Logan McDowell, and Lee Mae White.

Hattie was a devoted grandmother to ten grandchildren. She was a loving and caring presence in their lives, always ready with a kind word or a warm hug.

Hattie attended Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, where she excelled academically and formed lifelong friendships. She was deeply involved in her community, volunteering her time with various organizations and always lending a helping hand to those in need. Hattie's warmth and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her.

Hattie's passing was due to brain cancer, a battle she fought with strength and courage until the very end. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on in their hearts forever.
