Hata Earl Puriri died peacefully surrounded by his family: Teresa, Hata, Kiera, Dana, Aria, and Annika.
Born 12 August, 1964, in Hamilton New Zealand to Ra and Margie Puriri, Hata bonded deeply with his native land of New Zealand as a boy. At age eight he moved with his family to east Los Angeles, California. When Hata was 12 they moved one more time to Alpine, Utah, which became his second home.
Hata married Teresa and together they created a beautiful family of 5 children and three grandchildren. Together they have created a beautiful family culture that will continue to flourish for generations to come. His children will be nourished by rich memories of so manny happy times filled with laughter, games, and good food.
Hata loved and honored his parents. He cultivated deep friendships with his siblings and extended family.
Hata loved nature. He loved sunsets, walks on the beach, and the sound of the ocean as he slept. He loved surfing, skiing, golfing, movies, and food.
Hata was a seeker of truth. He was a follower of Jesus Christ. He valued the teachings of Buddha and many other spiritual teachers. Hata had great compassion for animals and those that suffered.
Hata was an amazing friend. His door was always open to anyone and everyone.
