Harrison (Jeep) Eugene Smith entered into eternity on March 9, 2019. He was preceded by his father, George Smith Sr, mother, Louise (Smith) Bell, sister, Barbara Jean Smith and leaves to cherish his memories, sisters, Willie Marie Mason (Guardian), JoAnne Hughes, and brother, George Smith Jr., children Swakishia (Darren) Geter, Harrison Smith Jr., Jonathan Smith, Sr., Grandchildren, Justin, Jalen, Jonathan Jr, and Esteban, a special niece, Felicia Michelle Ingram, and several nieces and nephews, and a very special childhood friend and neighbor, Mr. Albert Price.
As a child Harrison suffered for years with childhood asthma which prevented him from playing all sports at the time. Fortunately, after the age of 21, Harrison was able to take up a sport, tennis, and he became a champion in the game. His asthma had gone away. The story of his life, one obstacle after another but he perserved. He worked in the coal mines after graduation from high school for about nine years. He later decided to go take up a trade. He became a licensed electrician. Moved to Lexington and began working in construction. He worked at this trade until 2000. We are here today to acknowledge the memory of Harrison and together we can share both the joy in the gift that his life was to us and the pain that his passing brings. In sharing the joy and pain together, today, may it lessen the pain of his loss for us and remember the good times more clearly.
