Kaye, HaroldHarold C. Kaye, 93, of Little Sturgeon, passed away on February 20, 2017, at The Gathering CBRF in Sturgeon Bay. He was born on April 15, 1923, in Gardner to Victor and Clara (Engebose) Kaye. On February 13, 1945, he married Doris M. Destree in Brussels; she preceded him in death on October 25, 1992.Harold loved working on his farm for his entire life. He also worked as a commercial fisherman and a pipefitter at Bay Ship Building. Harold was a member of the Southern Door Snow Travelers, and St. Francis and St. Mary's Church. He enjoyed playing cards, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and traveling the world. Harold really enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.Survivors include three children, Evangeline (Larry) Kaus, Delafield, WI; Dan (Noretta) Kaye, Brussels; David (Laurie) Kaye, Brussels; special friend, Doris Reince, Duval; ten grandchildren, Kim (David) Meyer, Karrie (special friend, Robert Peot Jr.) Kuehl, Jerry (Becky) Knapp, Kim (Rick) Forester, Debbie Knapp, Mike (Kristy) Kaye, Dana (special friend, Brian Hewitt) Kaye, Cody Kaye, Eli Kaye; ten step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, Brett Carlin, Scott Carlin, Jake (Amber) Meyer, Taylor (fiancé, Tracy Galezewski) Meyer, Tori Meyer, Chris (Angie) Knapp, Craig (Luann) Knapp, Brianna Kaye, Alana Kaye, Isaac Hewitt; 13 step-great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, Josie and Ben Knapp, Thomas Carlin; two step-great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Cristine (Tom) Polster; in-laws, Joyce Destree, Bernadine Kaye, Arlene Braun, Harvey (Shirley) Destree, Janice (Roger) Mueller, Sharon (Warren) Larkin.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris; two brothers, Leonard and Howard Kaye; one niece, Shawn Polster; in-laws, Dora Destree, Roger Braun, Wallace and Lois Kipp, Arnold Destree, and Richard Kaye.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2017, at St. Francis and St. Mary's Church in Brussels with Rev. Ron Columbo and Deacon Paul Zenefski officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Monday.
