Gwen L. Sutter, 60, of Snyder Circle, Corry, Pa., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at UPMC Hamot, Erie, Pa., with her family by her side. She was born on February 28, 1956, in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of Betty Joseph Chase of Corry, Pa., and the late Harold Chase. Along with her family, Gwen moved to Corry, where she was raised and educated, attending Corry Area High School. As a young woman her main priority was raising and caring for her family. Over the years, she worked at Corry Jamestown Corp., as a bartender for several of the local bars and taverns and then at Bush Industries in Erie, Pa. She was a member of the VFW Post #264 Ladies Auxiliary and the Corry Central Labor Club. Gwen enjoyed doing sudoku books and going camping. In addition to her father, Gwen was preceded in death by a sister Diane Krieg; three brothers David Chase, Victor Chase and Dale Paver and two grandchildren Dakota Sutter and Tasia Sutter. Along with her mother, Gwen is survived by her life partner Douglas B. Rouse of Corry, Pa., three sons Donald Sutter III and his wife Julie of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Andrew Sutter and his wife Stacy of Clymer, N.Y. and Wallace Wright of Corry, Pa.; a sister Janet Bylsma and her husband Dan of Belding, Mich.; two brothers Randy Chase and his wife Anna of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Harold Paver and his wife Vicky of Corry, Pa. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. No visiting hours or service will be held at this time. Family and friends will be notified of a Celebration of Life gathering at a later date. A private burial will be held by the family.
