G.W. Maxwell LUBBOCK-G.W. Maxwell, 79, of Lubbock, passed away on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016. He was born on March 16, 1937, in Stamford, Texas, to George and O'Nita Maxwell. He was a lifelong resident of Lubbock attending Lubbock High School. G.W. served in the United States Navy and was a member of the Kiwanis Club and Oakwood Baptist Church. He was the owner of Maxwell Janitorial until his retirement after more than thirty years. He married Shirley Nail on Aug. 7, 1962, together they began their family. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley; one son, Michael Maxwell and wife, Tami, of Lubbock; four daughters, Felicia Maxwell and partner Ginny Oliver of Lubbock, Tammy Kimberly and husband, Dean of Kansas City, Karen Hunt and husband, Trent of Austin and Terry Gammill and husband, Greg of Tampa; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Ray Maxwell. Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, from 4 to 8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Venue on Broadway. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway, Lubbock, with burial to follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
