Gretta Jones, 64, of Houma, Louisiana, passed on March 10, 2022. Gretta was born on February 22, 1958.

Gretta was born on February 22, 1958. She was a nurse in the United States Army for 15 years where she met her husband George Jones. After leaving the military she worked as a private duty nurse until her retirement in 2020.

Gretta was a diehard sports fan and a fantastic cook. She loved working in her garden, playing card games with her friends, decorating for all holidays, and eating good seafood. She was a very kindhearted person and greeted everyone with a smile. In her later years, Alice enjoyed traveling with her family and watching the Game Show Network. Her most precious times were spent with her daughters, sons, and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Greg Jackson, and Anna Jackson; sister, Marie Jackson; brother, Greg Jackson Jr. grandson, Timmy Jackson; 2 nieces, Mary Hayes and Michelle Jackson; and grand-nephew, Pavis Holmes.

Gretta is survived by: Husband George Jones; 3 daughters, Brandy Jones, Nicole Hill, and Laila Holmes; 3 sons, Milton Jones, John Jones, Horace Jones; 6 adoring grandchildren, John, Bradley, Troy, Christian, Jamie, and Draymond Jones; 1 sister, Lori Jackson; devoted friend, Taylor Woods and a host of other relatives and friends.
