Grant Eugene "Gene" BlauserOctober 15, 1930 - November 14, 2016Grant Eugene "Gene" Blauser was born on October 15, 1930 in Hough, Oklahoma to Grant A. And Della Dean (Beer) Blauser and passed away on November 14, 2016 at his home in Nampa, Idaho surrounded by his family.Grant and his family moved to Idaho when he was three years old because of his baby sister, Bonita's health. The family's next move was to Detroit Michigan when Grant was in grade school. His father went to work for General Motors Diesel plant and his mother worked in an airplane factory cafeteria during WWII. When Grant was 14 the family moved back to Nampa and bought a farm on Southside Blvd. where Ronald Reagan Elementary currently stands. Soon after moving to Idaho, Grant met Patricia (Pat) Post. They later married on October 26,1948 after they both turned 18. They lived their first years of marriage in Oklahoma taking care of his grandmother, Bertie Blauser. They moved back to Nampa in 1950 and both went to work for Simplot's in Caldwell. Grant bought his first truck in 1951 and started Blauser Trucking which he retired from in 1997. He hauled hay and produce for farmers all around the valley and made many lifelong friends in the process. In August of 1953 their first child, Paul Grant Blauser was born, followed in 1956 by a daughter Rae Jean and in 1958 by a daughter Dea Ann. In July of 1957 they moved to their home on Elder Street and lived there for 53 years. Grant was preceded in death by his mother and father and brother in law, Carroll Reynolds. He is survived by his wife Pat of 68 years, his sister Bonita Reynolds, his son Paul (Linda) Blauser of Elk Grove, CA, his daughter Rae (Paul Sr.) Campbell, daughter Dea Blauser Roth, all of Nampa, he is also survived by his grandchildren Patrick (Kristie) Massey, April Massey and Paul Campbell, Jr., all of Nampa. Kari Blauser of Klamath Falls, OR and Brian (Valerie) Blauser of Elk Grove, CA. 3 step grandchildren, Liza, Leslee (Joe) and Kaylynn (Damon) and 18 great grandchildren.The most important things in Grant's life were family, trucks and his animals, most recently his pup, George.Viewing will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 20,2016 at The Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel with Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Christian Faith Center 31 S.
