Grace J. "Bonnie" Christensen RIO RANCHO, NM Grace J. Bonnie Christensen, 81, formerly of Racine, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013. Bonnie was born on March 30, 1931 to Henry and Evelyn (Olson) Christensen. She was united in marriage to Gene Anderson on September 5, 2009. Bonnie was a graduate of Park High, class of 1949. She was a proud member of American Legion Post 118 Ladies Auxiliary, the
Elks Lodge #461 in Albuquerque, La Societe de Femme, and the Sons of Norway. In her early years Bonnie was employed at Hamilton Beach and Racine Unified. She retired from Racine County Human Services in 1993 after 17 years of service. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Gene Anderson, of Rio Rancho, children, Alan (Susan Williams), of Hermosa, SD, Thomas (Sue), and Dean Christensen (Kelly Wishau), of Racine, WI; stepchildren, Jeffrey (Donna) Anderson, of Boiling Springs, SC, Rogene (Mike) Schromko, and Gary (Jackie) Anderson, of Rio Rancho, grandchildren, Belinda (Todd) Kormak, Jennie Preston (Ron DeLabio), Jessica (John) Moore, Michelle, Will, Bryan, Mike (Spring Pami), Dan (Morgan),Joe, and Dylan Christensen, and many great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Lois Slaasted, of Racine, WI, Dorie Skovsted of Arlington Heights, IL, and Dina (Emory) Anderson, of Marston Hills, MA; daughter-in-law, Linda (Mike) Henkel; and many nieces, nephews and friends who mourn her passing. Since Bonnies passing we have also lost her brother-in-law, Ray Slaasted. She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Christensen, and husbands Billy Arney, Cal Christensen, and Walter Chalecki, sister-in-law Marilyn Anderson and brother-in-law Marv Skovsted. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013, 12:00 pm, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 3319 Washington Avenue, with Rev. Jane Fryda officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00am until the time of the service. Private interment took place in the Rose Garden at Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho.
