Gloria D. SheelyDoverGloria Dean (Wern) Sheely, 77, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at ManorCare York North after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born on April 5, 1940 in Hopewell, VA to Sadie Wern.Gloria graduated from New Cumberland High School in 1959 then earned a degree in cosmetology at Harrisburg School of Beauty Culture. She worked at Marty's Beauty Shop, Lemoyne, Danskin Clothing, York, Spangler's Market, Weigelstown, and Messiah Village, Mechanicsburg. She married the love of her life, Daniel B. Sheely II on November 10, 1962. She is survived by two children, Mark A. Sheely of Hampstead, MD and Elizabeth A. Styer of Hopatcong, NJ. Daughter-in-law, Connie and son-in-law, Michael, as well as, her two loving sisters, Debbie Bomberger and Darlene Favinger.Gloria loved her dogs, enjoyed helping people of all ages, but absolutely loved children especially spending time with her grandchildren, Taylor, Max and Adam.A family visitation will be held at Zion United Methodist Church, 1030 Carlisle Rd, York, PA 17404 Monday, August 14 at 10 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. A luncheon will be provided immediately following the service.
