Gloria M Rivera, A Beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend

Gloria Milta Martinez, lovingly known as "Mama" to her family and "Mrs. G" to friends, passed away peacefully, reuniting with her beloved husband, Genaro Rivera, in eternal rest.

She was born on January 5, 1944, in Cidras, Puerto Rico, to Benita Hernandez and Arcadio Martinez.

As a child, Gloria moved with her mother and siblings, Julia, Maria Delores (Lola), Maria del Carmen (Carmen), Benita (Tita), Arcadio ( Cajean), Jose (pepe), Raphael (Ralphy) and Hector to Brooklyn, New York, where she grew up surrounded by the love of her large family.

She worked as a laborer in her early years. She then worked in an electronic establishment as well as the neighborhood cleaners in ENY, Brooklyn. She was truly enamored by friends she met along the way.

She shared a long loving mutually committed beautiful life with Genaro in their marriage on June 29, 1963, and together they raised four children: Genaro Jr., Irene, Anthony, and Debbie.

Although Gloria did work she dedicated most of her life to being a devoted stay-at-home mother. She later retired to Florida with Genaro, where she found joy in music—especially country, salsa, oldies, and '60s hits. She cherished her trinkets, dolls, stuffed animals, flowers, butterflies, and puzzles. Her electronic casino games provided entertainment, but nothing meant more to her than her treasured photographs.

One of her greatest joys came from her grandchildren: Tiana, Angel, Genaro III ("Doo"), Kayla, Anthony ("Nunu"), Ian, Saquan ("Biggie"), Jaquan ("Smalls"), and Joy'ann. Even in her final days, she remained their biggest supporter—cheering for Saquan’s college basketball games on YouTube with unwavering enthusiasm.

She also adored her great-grandchildren: Christiana, Jhavion, Jamien, Jayce, Jada, Mia, Jace, Anthony Jr., Liam, Maysen, Greysen, and Legend.

Gloria is survived by her children; daughters-in-law Lisa and Tasha; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and her only remaining living sister Carmen Colon and her family; and countless loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.

Her family finds comfort knowing she is now at peace with her life partner Genaro in the Kingdom of Heaven.

We (your children) want to Thank you Mommy for everything you have been to us. We could not have asked the Lord for better Parents. Irreplaceable. We are abundantly grateful for you and Pa giving us life.

Until we meet again—rest in eternal peace, Mama. You are immensely and deeply loved and truly missed.

You can to the family or in memory of Gloria Rivera.
