Gloria Close1932-2013Gloria Close passed away peacefully on October 17, 2013. Gloria was born on November 9, 1932 in New Haven, Connecticut and married Joseph Close in 1953. In 1958 they moved to California eventually settling in the North Long Beach area where Gloria raised three children. Gloria worked for 18 years in the Compton Unified School District as an attendance clerk before retiring and moving to Leisure World in 1993. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph and two daughters, Karen and Kathy. She is survived by her son, Richard (Lois) Close and grandson Joseph Close. Funeral services for Gloria will be held at Leisure World Holy Family Catholic Church on October 25 at 10:00 AM followed by burial at All Souls Cemetery, 4400 Cherry Ave., Long Beach, CA 90807. www.allsoulsmortuary.com (562) 424-8601
