Glen Warren Cottrall, 91, passed away October 12, 2016, at Bickword Senior Living in Raytown, Missouri. He was born on January 29, 1925 in Des Moines, Iowa. Glen grew up in Des Moines and attended school there until he joined the
United States Navy during his senior year of high school in November, 1944. He proudly served his country during
WWII until July, 1946. Glen attended Des Moines Technical School in 1950- 1951. He married Nova Stanley on June 14, 1952 in Wichita, Kansas. They lived in Wichita, Boulder, Colorado and later Topeka, Kansas, before settling in Kansas City, Missouri. They lived in Missouri for the next 57 years together. Nova and Glen had two daughters and were married for 64 years before Nova passed away in March, 2014. Glen worked for the Industrial Division of Fuller Brush Company for over 35 years before retiring in 1988. He also enjoyed buying and selling cars for the past 30 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Glen was also a proud life-long Democrat, and supported several charities, including . Glen was preceded in death by his wife, Nova, and a sister, Marie Hanke-Scarcello, as well as his parents, Corbett Cottrall and Alida Cassem-Cottrall. Survivors include his two daughters, Collette Rene Cottrall, of Kansas City, Missouri, and Leslie Ann Wasson, and his son in law, Dr. Dan Wasson, of Lee's Summit, Missouri. He is also remembered fondly by his three grandsons, Dr. Nicholas Wasson of Chicago, Illinois, Cody Wasson of Santa Monica, California, Kasey Wasson of Florence, Alabama, and one granddaughter, Dani Wasson, of Kansas City, Missouri. He has two surviving sisters as well: Deloris Tappe, of Freeport, Illinois, and Phyllis Elwell, of Burwick, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews. Glen was laid to rest in a private graveside service on October 17, 2016 at Lee's Summit Historical Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to or Crossroads Hospice.
