Mrs. Stogner was born on Sept. 25, 1934 in Ocala, Florida, to Lonnie and Lennie Cordrey.

Gladys was a nurse for over 40 years with most of those years at Richmond Memorial Hospital. People would recognize her from taking care of their family or being there at the birth of their children. Gladys loved everyone as her own and she was loved by all who met her. She was the last of the diehards to wear the starched white uniform and hat until the day she retired. She was very proud of that uniform and what it represented.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim Stogner; son Steve Stogner; and twin sister, Virginia Holland.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, Don Holland; her niece, Donna Letson and husband Dale; nephew, Chris Holland and wife Wendi; great-niece, Brooke Holland; two great-nephews, Davis Holland and Dustin Letson all from Clovis, California. Also surviving are many close friends that were special to her.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Second Baptist Church in Hamlet, immediately followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Mary Love Cemetery in Hamlet. The Rev. Chris Hawks of Second Baptist Church will be officiating the services.
