Gladys Z. Schroeder 1918 - 2014 Gladys Z. Schroeder, 96, of Kenosha died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at Harmony House. Gladys was born on April 7, 1918, in Burnt Prairie Township, Ill., the daughter of the late Christian W. and Nellie Belle (Acord) Majors. She was educated in the schools of Illinois and attended Grant Hospital Nurses Training School. She married Werner Curt Schroeder on Nov. 29, 1952, in Vienna, Ill. She worked as a registered nurse for Northern Illinois Medical Center in Mc Henry, Ill. She attended Crossview Church in Antioch, Ill. Her hobbies were reading mystery novels, doing crossword puzzles and playing scrabble. Survivors include her daughter Joy (Jim) Hamrick of Trevor, Wis.; a brother Robert C. Majors of Sebring, Fla.; four grandchildren, Jay, James, Jennifer, Jessica; and a great granddaughter Anna Rose. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Werner Curt Schroeder on Nov. 11, 1997; two sons, Jay Robert Schroeder and Werner Curt "Cappy" Schroeder. Funeral Services were private.
