Gerald T. Cushing (Jerry) passed away in his home on Wednesday, July 17, 2019. Surviving are his wife Arlos of fifty seven years. Son Gerald T. Cushing Jr.  (Kathy) of Chicago Il, son Brian Cushing (Michelle) of LaGrange Illinois and daughter Christian (Christopher) of North Judson Indiana; his sibling Rosie (John) Tribbey of  Sacramento, California. Grandchildren Kevin, Rosie, Jonathon, Mary, Sara, Mitch, Colleen, Daniel and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He is proceeded in death by his parents Leo Cushing, Margaret (Seaton), brother Leo Cushing Jr., David Cushing, sister in law Dixie, sister Marilyn Poremba and brother in law John Poremba. 

Getald retired in 2005 from the Chicago Police Department as a Sergeant First Grade after forty years of service. During his time on the force he served on the Canine Unit and Narcotics before retiring in 2005 to his family farm in Medaryville, Indiana. 

Services are being held at the FOP at 11th and State, Chicago, Illinois  on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. 

Burial is private. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. Jude Medical Center.
