George Robert Riddell LEVELLAND-George Robert Riddell, 77, of Levelland died Oct. 23, 2016, in Levelland, Texas. Funeral service is set for Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2016, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Head Duarte Funeral Home of Levelland. Rosary was recited from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, with Rev. Ernesto Lopez officiating. George Robert Riddell was born on May, 26, 1939, in Whitehall, Michigan, to Clarence and Alberta Riddell. He wed Marie Ochetti on June 24, 1961, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The couple relocated to Levelland, Texas, in 1962. He earned a Master Degree in Education and was a band director in Levelland, Abernathy, and Whiteface. George was an artist and enjoyed painting portraits as well as landscapes. He was also a musician, played the saxophone, and had a passion for teaching children to play instruments. He enjoyed going out to dinner and traveling as well. He will be missed by all of his family and friends. Survivors include: spouse, Marie Ochetti Riddell; son, Mark Riddell (Martha) of Dallas; daughters, Cyndi (David) Clark of Nashville, Tennessee, and Jacqueline Riddell of Dallas; brothers-in-law, Floyd Hammontree and James Ochetti; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Audrey Goren and Clarie Hammontree. Interment will be held in the City of Levelland Cemetery. Services under the direction of Head Duarte Funeral Home and staff of Levelland.
