George Noel Forbes, 63, of Kingston 20, passed away on November 08, 2022 with his children by his side. He was born to the late Alstead and Rosabel (nee Williams) Forbes on May 26,1959 in Westmoreland, but relocated to Kingston at the age of three. George graduated from the St. Andrew Technical High School in 1977 and received his teaching certification in 1983 at the Escuela Provincial de Educacion Fisica y Desportes (Provincial School of Physical Education and Sports) in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba. George was an accomplished and well-regarded sports administrator, serving as the Competitions Director at the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) for close to 20 years before retiring in April 2020. Prior to his role at ISSA, George was a sports reporter at IRIE FM and served as the Head of both the Physical Education and Spanish departments at St. Joseph's High School, in St. Andrew. He also held positions at various foreign entities based on the island, including the Italian Embassy, Kajima Corporation and the Italian Health Corporation. George loved sports administration and his children unconditionally, and poured tirelessly into each with the unwavering dedication and diligence of a victor -- and to borrow from the words of his favorite song by the legendary Frank Sinatra -- "the record shows, he took the blows and did it his way."

George leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Melika, Latisha, and Adigaye; four sons, O'Shane, Reynaldo, Geovanni, and Trevaughn; granddaughter, Maliah; sister, Paulette; niece, Natalia; grandnephew, Win-Andre, and a host of other relatives, loved ones and colleagues.

A celebration of life for the late George N. Forbes will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at the New Haven Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 17-19 Columbus Dr., Kingston 20 (off Washington Blvd). Interment follows at Meadowrest Memorial Gardens.
