George Cowden Sr., 77, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 17, 2012.He was born on April 19, 1935, to Marvin and Margie Drennon Cowden, in Lindsay, Okla.He was united in marriage on Jan. 29, 1954 to Angeline Cowden in Welby, Colo.He is preceded in death by his parents, wife: Angeline Cowden in 2011, and brother: Bill Cowden in 2011.George is survived by his children: George Cowden Jr. and Brenda Fresquez of San Ignacio, N.M., daughter: Carol Hughes and husband Paul of Westminster, Colo.; brother: Don Cowden and wife Mary Jo of Commerce City, Colo.; sister: Helen Wachenheim of Arvada, Colo.; grandchildren: Kevin Cowden and wife Brandi of Cincinnati, Ohio and, Jessica Cowden of Westminster, Colo.; great grandchildren Bryson and Brooklyn Cowden and numerous nieces and nephews.Cremation has taken place and burial will be held at a later date.The family would like to thank Dr. Snyder and his staff at New Mexico Cancer Care and the staff at Vida Encantada (B-Wing) for the compassion and care they provided.
