Genene Johnson, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on October 24, 2025 in Syracuse, New York, at the age of 98. She was born on June 13, 1927 to Richard and Janet in Syracuse. Genene was married to her loving husband Bernard in 1953 and together they raised three children.

Genene was a graduate of Syracuse High School in 1943 and went on to receive her degree from the University of Syracuse in 1947. She was an active member of the North Syracuse Christian Church and dedicated her time to helping others.

Outside of her work and family life, Genene had many hobbies that brought her joy. She loved knitting, cooking, and taking leisurely walks in the park. Her warm smile and kind heart will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Genene is survived by her children Richard Johnson II and his spouse Lasandra, Elijah Johnson and his spouse Maebell, and Wilkie Johnson and his spouse Laura. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren.

Genene will be remembered for her unwavering love and dedication to her family and community. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
