Gayle A. ScottLafayette - Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 2:00 PM in La Chapelle de Martin and Castille, for Gayle A. Scott, age 68, who died at 10:27 PM on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at her residence in Lafayette after a brave and valiant battle with colon cancer. Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Reverend Jay Miller, Pastor of The Family Church will conduct the funeral services. Survivors include her mother, Lita Bergeron Andrus of Lafayette; a son, Jared Scott and fiancée, Angelique Midkiff, of Baton Rouge; her grandchildren, Ayden Scott and Lincoln Scott; her brother, James Lee Andrus and his wife, Sherry; three nephews Ray Andrus Jr., Ben Andrus and Ross Andrus and their families; one godchild Martha K. Bertrand. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Terry Lee Benoit, her father, Leroy Andrus and her brother Ray Andrus.Gayle was born on January 28, 1949 in Rayne, Louisiana and was a lifelong resident of Lafayette. She was a member of The Family Church. Gayle was a hairdresser by trade, but claimed that she never worked a day in her life, because all her customers became her friends and she enjoyed their visits. Spending time with her grandchildren was her main joy in life. She enjoyed baking for her family and also enjoyed jewelry making.
