Gary Samual Sherman "Woody" passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 20, 2023. He was born on April 13, 1967. A graduate of Woodbury High School and Wilbur Wright College, he loved Minnesota Sports, fishing, and spending time with family, friends, and his beautiful grandchildren. He was a Local 63 Iron Worker for 28 years with some of his most memorable projects being the Target Center and U.S Bank Stadium. Gary is survived by his devoted wife Margarete, loving children Katie Samaan, and Marc Sherman, and grandchildren Olivia Samaan and Bella Samaan. He was the beloved son-in-law of Shamiram Samaan, the brother of Lisa Bekemeyer, and the brother-in-law of John (Kathy) Samaan. Gary was preceded in death by his parents Augustus and Shirley Hartman, He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2023, 9:30 am to 10:15 am. Funeral Mass to follow 10:30 am to 11:30 am, at St. Elizabeth of the Trinity 2195 Woodlane Drive Woodbury, MN 55125
