It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Bates, born on May 17, 1965, in Plainfield, New Jersey, United States. He was the loving son of Leo Bates and Gloria Washington.

Gary studied at Bound Brook High School and went on to work as a youth counselor, where he made a positive impact on many young lives.

Outside of work, Gary had a passion for cats and was known as an avid cat lover. He had no children of his own but was a father figure to many.

On October 19, 2024, Gary passed away due to heart failure. He will be remembered for his caring nature, kind spirit, and dedication to helping others.

Rest in peace, Gary. You will be dearly missed by all who knew you.

Gary is survived by his mother Gloria Washington his sisters Michelle Washington residing in New Jersey, Kym Barron residing in Virginia, Brothers Kevin Washington and Greg Washington also residing in New Jersey
