It is with both sorrow and love that we remember the life of Freddie Lee Brown, known fondly by many as Al, who was born on March 29, 1946, in Mobile, Alabama, and passed away on January 20, 2025. Freddie was a generous, ambitious, loving, and dedicated man, a beacon of warmth and kindness who truly made the world a better place.
Freddie was a man of many talents and interests, with a zest for life that was simply contagious. His hobbies ranged from fishing and cooking out to
boxing, baseball, singing, playing drums and he loved to DJ. Freddie's love for his family was unparalleled, and his happiest times were those spent with his family.
Freddie's career was as diverse and ambitious as he was. He served with distinction in the Army and was honorably discharged. He spent over 20 years as an electronic repair specialist, a profession that showcased his keen mind and meticulous attention to detail. His work took him to companies like, RCA, Reuters and Women.com. After retiring he went on to a career at Walmart, where he worked for seven years. He loved helping his co-workers and customers alike, demonstrating the same level of dedication and care in his work as he did in every other aspect of his life.
Freddie is survived by his loving wife, Denise Brown, and his children Nathaniel Brown, Toni Brown, Nicole Brown, Dwight Grant(Asha), DeQuan Ware, Daysha Brown and Devon Brown. He was the proud grandfather of Tia, Nathaniel, Nicole, Nathaniel, Nakeem, Nazir, Amelio, Loyalty, and the great-grandfather of Alyssa, Aleia, and Nasir. He is also survived by his siblings Kenneth, Albertha, Zachary, and his many nieces and nephews. Freddie was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Wilma Brown, and his siblings Debra, Albert, Helen, and Vanessa.
Freddie's legacy of love, generosity, and dedication will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him.
