Franklyn George Perry 91 of Antioch, passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 29, 2025 in Antioch after a short illness.
Frank was born on September 20, in 1933 in Richmond California to parents Frank Daniel Perry and Anna Ruth (Celis) Perry. Frank had 12 siblings and grew up in Richmond where he graduated high school in 1952 and married Elaine Flora Cyr on September 24, 1955.
Frank and Elaine bought a house and moved to Antioch in 1968. Frank had a passion for carpentry but ended with a career as a butcher until retirement. Frank and Elaine owned a butcher shop in Richmond in the 80's and called it "Frank's Meats". Frank was always a dedicated, hard worker and ended up working at local grocery stores after selling the butcher shop. When he wasn't at work, he loved to go fishing and camping. Frank and Elaine frequently fished at Contra Loma Regional Park and the Antioch Delta. Frank and Elaine were always in competition over the fish they caught and took many pictures of their trophies. Frank also loved John Wayne, old western movies, old cars (specifically Chevy!), and was a die-hard 49er fan. Frank always liked to build things out of wood and work on projects around the house and yard. Frank had a great sense of humor and often played pranks on his family and friends. Frank loved his grandchildren and often took them fishing and camping when they were young. Frank helped care for his youngest grandson Joseph after retirement, and he enjoyed their time together. Frank’s youngest granddaughter Jasmine was his caregiver after Elaine passed, and up until Frank left us to join her.
Frank and Elaine were married 68 years before she passed in November 2023. Frank is survived by his three daughters; Deborah Miller, Dannette (Larry) Larsh, and DeAnna (Chuck) Perry-Pebley; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Frank has requested no funeral service and only private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Friends of Antioch Animal Services, or to the East Bay Regional Park District in his name.
You can to the family or in memory of Franklyn Perry.
