HOWE — Franklin Leroy Sherman, 70, of Howe, Indiana, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at his residence. He was born on September 18, 1945, in Sturgis, Michigan, to the late, Harry L. and Ruth May (Mireley) Sherman. On November 27, 1971, he married Katherine W. White in Richmond, Kentucky. She survives him in Howe. Frank lived his lifetime in the Howe Community. He was the former owner of Sherman Farm Equipment in Howe and a co-owner of Sherman Farms. Frank was currently working as the store manager for Greenmark Equipment in LaGrange. He also worked as a territory manager for John Deere for 13 years. He was currently serving as the president on the Lima Elevator Board. Frank was a former member of the Howe Lions Club, past treasurer and board of director for the LaGrange County 4-H, serving on the board from 1990-2003 and a former member and past president of the FSA Board. Frank was also a member of the Lima Presbyterian Church in Howe. Along with his wife Katherine he is survived by his two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joseph "Jody" T. and Melissa Sherman and Michael S. Sherman all of Howe; five grandchildren, Madeleine Sherman, Marlee Sherman, Dawson Sherman, Cooper Sherman and Bella Slone; a sister and a brother-in-law, Rebecca and John Pueschel of Sturgis, Michigan; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Beth Sherman of Howe; several niece's and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. His parents, and a brother, H. Delevan Sherman preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 West Michigan St., LaGrange. Rev. David Hughes will officiate and burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Howe. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the funeral home from 1-6 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. until service time on Monday before the service.
