It is with great sadness that the family of Franklin M. Tierra, 72, announces his passing at home, on March 4, 2020.
Frank was born in Manila, Philippines to Ildefonso Tierra and Esther Tierra on July 30, 1947. He graduated from American University in 1974 and became a Naturalized Citizen in 1975. He married Diana Hollis on August 21, 1978 in Las Vegas, NV.
Frank is preceded in death by Ildefonso Tierra (Father), Esther Tierra (Mother) and Brothers: Karl, Lionel, Katz and Douglas.
Frank is survived by Diana Tierra (wife of 42 years) and his Children: Nicholas Tierra, Michelle Rojas and Anthony Alvendia. Also survived by Brothers: Sam Tierra and Pierre Tierra and Sisters: Kathryn Jacobson and Joan Lumba. He loved and adored his Grandchildren: Logan, Kayla, Justin, Jadon, Aria, and greatgrandson, Brayden. Survived also by Aunt Annie Villarba and three Uncles: Filomeno, Pete, and Bernardo Amarillas. He will also be remebered by numerous nieces and nephews around the globe.
In the early part of his career, Frank held various positions in the private industry, serving as Manager/Finance Director for multiple Fortune 500 Companies. As an Entrepreneur, he formed his own successful government contracting company where he served as President/CEO until his retirement. He was known to always grab the bull by the horns and get things done when others couldn't see a way. He was problem solver and loved helping others. He enjoyed getting together with his family as often as possible. He was an avid music lover and gifted pianist, finding comfort in music throughout his final days.
A Celebration of Frank's Life with Eulogies will be held at the National Funeral Home on Saturday, March 28th, 2020 at 11:30am. Funeral Mass at 1pm, directly followed by a Funeral Inurnment at the National Memorial Park.
