Frank Lee Locke was born on December 29, 1945 in San Antonio, TX, and passed away peacefully in his Austin, TX home on January 16, 2025 surrounded by family and friends during his final days. He was a beloved husband, brother, stepfather, grandfather and friend.
He was the son of the late Miles and Lucille Locke and grew up alongside his three siblings: Miles Locke Jr, Charles Locke, and Leah Locke Arnett. On February 14, 2004, he married the love of his life, Cecilia Brady Locke. Through their union, he became a devoted step-father to her four children: Lisa Mayo, Matthew Dowst, Sara Shaff and Kelly Kash. He was also a beloved grandfather to his nine grandchildren: Brayden, Brinley, Jason, Abigail, Olivia, Wyatt, Avery, Daniel and Austin. He embraced all his roles will open arms and a full heart.
Frank graduated from Richfield High School in Waco, TX on May 28, 1964. Following his education, he dedicated himself to service by joining the Peace Corps from October 1967 to July 1969, where he volunteered primarily in Iran. His time there reflected his deep commitment to helping others and making a positive impact on the world. After his service there, Frank moved to Austin where he enjoyed working on cars, rowing on town lake and dancing. After his retirement from Roger Beasley Volvo, he spent his time visiting family and making memories with his beloved wife and favorite dog, Coni.
He will be remembered for his loving spirit, patience and calming personality. Frank had an extraordinary ability to care for those around him, offering support and kindness in every interaction. His legacy of compassion and selflessness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
