Cady , Frank EarlFrank Earl Cady, 82, passed away Monday morning (Feb13, 2017) at the Hart Comfort House in Wellsville. He was born on April 30, 1934 in Wellsville the son of the late Earl Forest and Pearl (Babcock) Cady of Allentown. On June 21, 1958 he married Joan Marie McGuirl at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Scio, NY. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his older sister, Sweetie Cady, in 1939. Frank was raised in Allentown, NY. He was a graduate of Allentown Union Free School and St. Bonaventure University, having earned both his Bachelor and Masters Degrees there. Following a two-year tour in the US Army, he began a nearly four-decade long career in education. He was a History, Latin, and English teacher from 1957-1984, serving two years at Friendship Central School, three years at Scio Central School and the remaining years at Wellsville Central School. He then became assistant principal of Wellsville High School and principal in 1986, retiring in June 1991. Frank was a life-long accomplished athlete and coach in multiple sports, having ultimately been inducted into both the Allegany County Athletic Association and Wellsville Sports Halls of Fame. Frank's most noteworthy coaching accomplishments while Coach of the WHS Girls' Varsity Softball team included: seven Section V championships in nine years; a NYS record of 58 consecutive wins - including the 1994 Azalea Championship; and, 7 Expressway Conference titles - including a streak of 41 consecutive wins. Several of his Lady Fast Pitch athletes went on to the collegiate level. His loving family includes not only his wife Joan, of 58 years, but also three children, Michael Earl (Carol Bryant) Cady, grandson's Luke and Eli of Elmira, NY; Sheila Anne (Anthony, Jr.) Delmonte, granddaughter Abbigail, and grandson Dominick of Clarence, NY; Julie Anne (Dr. Douglas) Cady-Reh, granddaughters Isabel and Laney, and grandson Sam of Reisterstown, MD; and 12 nephews and 11 nieces. He loved his family with a vigor unlike any other.
