Floyd Marie Rucks Age 83, passed away on Tuesday, May 30th, 2017, in Tacoma, WA. Floyd was born on a farm in Rocky Branch, TX on March 14th, 1934 to Cyrus W. and Fern Marie Rucks; he was the youngest of six children. Floyd made a career in the United States Army for 23 years, serving 2 tours in Vietnam and achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4. He met the love of his life, Ingeborg Theil, while stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany, to eventually marry in 1958. Military service brought his family to Fort Lewis in 1974, making Lakewood, WA home for the next 43 years. After retiring from the military in 1979, Floyd started a second career at Pioneer Business Forms/Data Documents. He then retired for a second time after 15 years. In retirement, Floyd was able to enjoy spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed his time hunting, fishing, watching his favorite Northwest sports teams, and researching the family's genealogy. He was preceded in death by his wife Inge, daughter Cherry Ann, and brothers William F. Rucks, Charles W. Rucks, and Homer Lee Rucks. He is survived by his son Ronnie R Rucks (Suzie Ellis), granddaughters Sara Randle (Matthew Randle) and Michelle Rucks, great-grandchildren Alexander Kultgen, JoElla Mae Seaton, Ellanora Randle, and Madelyn Randle, his brother Richard P. Rucks (Robbie L. Rucks), sister Minnie Ruth, former daughter-in-law Lisa Rucks (Lance LeBrun), and many dear friends and close family members. Floyd will be greatly missed. Memorial services will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA 98499 on Tuesday, June 13th, at 10:00 AM in the Aspen Chapel, followed by a same-day graveside service with military honors at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA, at 2:00 PM.
